Well, it’s been a while so we have a couple of updates for you today. First, about Melissa. They finally scheduled the MRI for October 4th. So, we’ve still got a while until we know more. Second, the church voted on September 14th to use some funds to build me a new office. I currently have an 11′ x 14′ office in the building with the Sunday School classroom. My new office will be 8′ x 11′ and is attached to the sanctuary. It’s smaller, but it’s sufficient. My current office will then be transformed into a nursery, solving our space problem, for the time being. Construction began on Tuesday and is going well. Today I’m starting the tape/mud process and the plan is to have the room completely done (including paint) by tomorrow. The most exciting part of the project is that this is the first project undertaken by the church that is not being completely using funds from supporting churches. The folks here are covering 100% of the cost. It’s a blessing to continue watching them grow. And, finally, this past Sunday we had two new visitors to church. They received some of our information during visitation and decided to come visit us. Looking forward to seeing them again!

This is the latest update from our missionaries to the Hispanic people of South Texas, the Aaron & Melissa Freeman Family…
July 2011
Dear Fellow Servants of Christ,

We know God is faithful to provide. Over the past year we’ve felt led to begin several initiatives, beginning with the construction of our new church building, and God hasFreeman Family provided for each and every one only after we began to work. His blessings are continuing, as you will see in the update below!

New Visitors: We had a special graduation service in June and had a record attendance of 66. The building was full, with people standing in the back. All heard a clear Gospel presentation. One of the families present has begun attending regularly, raising our average attendance to between 25-30 people. We’ve also had some other visitors and know of two other families that may begin attending very soon.

Youth: Our next youth service is July 10th and it promises to be a great time. With the new family we now have about 8 more youth and they are very interested in serving including singing, ushering, visitation, playing instrumental specials and more. Please pray that we would be able to provide outlets for them to grow and serve through these special services and other projects in the church.

Missions Trips: Unfortunately, the group for this summer had to cancel due to economic difficulties. Fortunately, they were able to send $900 towards the work so that we can do it ourselves. I have since completed all of the rough-in plumbing, with much help from Mr. Martinez from Iglesia Bautista Betania in Mission, Texas, and have most of the materials on-hand for the rest of the work. We are about $300 short on finishing the work, so the showers will not be completed initially. If you are interested in scheduling your own trip in 2012-2013 (it’s not too early), we’d be happy to speak with you!

Sound System: Thanks to some great advice (and financial assistance) from Tim Wade at Jetersville Baptist Church we were able to install most of a simple sound system in the church. We will be receiving some additional materials from Paul Deem towards the end of July that will help complete the system.

New Teachers: Melissa has begun training two young ladies in the church on how to teach youth classes. They currently are teaching a Sunday Evening youth class for the younger children. Both are new teachers but are doing very well. Please pray that they will continue to serve and grow in this capacity.

Nursery: We are continuing to try and build the nursery in the new building, but have so far been hindered. Some materials were offered that didn’t fit our plans and others were offered that we couldn’t transport here (due to excessive shipping costs). We will be receiving a couple of items from Paul Deem at the end of the month, and will most likely need to purchase the remaining items. If you are interested in assisting financially with this project, please let us know.

We thank you again for your continued support, both in prayer and financially. As always, we are excited to see what the Lord has done, is doing and to look forward to what He will do in the future. Your missionaries to South Texas,

Aaron, Melissa, Braden, August & Addie Grace Freeman

We had a good trip to the zoo on Monday. I’ve been a little slow getting the photos out, but here they are! On Sunday we had a new family visit with us. It was a husband/wife and their 6 year old son. They came with us to the zoo on Monday and then the wife/son came back to church on Wednesday. In speaking with him it seems they may be leaving soon due to his job (for about 8 months), but we look forward to being able to work with them until that time. In other news, we received the lettering for the sign at the road. I finished framing the vinyl today and everything is now painted. It’s got a few more wrinkles than I’d like, but it should still work fine, as long as I’m careful when I attach the lettering. I’m hoping to get all of that done before Sunday. Nothing else to share. Have a great day!
